BNP has been elected as the fourth Member of Parliament from BNP. Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmeen Chowdhury reads their sworn words at the Parliament building at 6 p.m. on Monday (April 29). In the afternoon, they reached the parliament building at 5 pm. They are: Aminul Islam of Bangladesh (Chapai Nawabganj-2), Haroor Rashid (Chapai Nawabganj-3), advocate Abdus Sattar (Brahmanbaria-2) and Mosharraf Hossain (Bogra-4).
He was previously sworn in last Thursday as the newly elected BNP from Thakurgaon-3 seats. The BNP has not yet sworn in as the BNP’s general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. He was elected from the Bogra-6 seat. The Awami League-led coalition and allies won a landslide majority in the parliamentary elections on December 30. The BNP-led national Unity Front topped only 8 seats. Among the selected 8 candidates, 6 are from BNP and two are in the public forum. However, the unity Front rejected the allegations of irregularities and accusations in the election.
On March 7, Sultan Mohammad Mansoor, who was elected to the parliament from Moulabazar-2, was sworn-in as the BNP’s two members of Parliament. On April 2, the newly elected Mobbi Khano was sworn in as the symbol of the public forum from Sylhet-2 seats.
